Composition Seminar students must create a series of composition submissions over the course of a given semester; complete a set of prescribed assignments and/or exercises; give in-class presentations; and extend their composition submissions to a single piece or a related series of movements as a single composition that is 5-8 minutes in length.
Students must take at least 10 or more weekly composition lessons per semester, scheduled on a regular basis. Lessons will be with either Dr. A, Prof. K, or a TF as assigned.
Additionally, students are required to attend the Beinecke Library Concerts and encouraged to attend the New Music New Haven concerts, as well as any other concerts on which they and their peers present their works.
